Boxford caucus elects delegation for June convention

February 28, 2012

21 Boxford Democrats caucused at the Boxford Community Center on Sunday afternoon, February 26 to elect the town’s delegation to the Massachusetts Democratic Party’s 2012 endorsing convention in Springfield this June.

The caucus elected Kenneth Thompson of Herrick Road, David Woodruff and Denise Woodruff of Pye Brook Lane as delegates and Donald Bumiller of King George Drive, Joan Campbell of Pinehurst Drive and Christian Schoenberg of Topsfield Road as alternates to represent Boxford’s Democrats at the annual convention. In addition, the committee’s chair, Marianne Rutter of King John Drive, will serve as an ex officio delegate.

For the first time this year, the caucus also voted David Woodruff the first Franklin Pierce Pomroy Honorary Delegate, honoring the memory of recently deceased committee member Frank Pomroy of Mill Run Road.  Pomroy, a decorated veteran of World War II, had been an active member of the committee and an enthusiastic member of its delegation for the past several years; he passed away in June.  For more on Frank Pomroy, scroll down on this page or set your browser to

A brief business meeting followed the caucus.  The committee will hold its next meeting over breakfast on Saturday, March 31 at 10 am at Jimmy K’s Restaurant in Georgetown.
