Tuesday, May 10:  Annual food drive collection before Boxford’s spring town meeting at Masconomet.  A table and collection boxes will be set up at entrance. Bring non-perishable goods to benefit to two local food pantries.

MAY 2015

Tuesday, May 12th. 6-7 pm – 4th Annual Food Drive before Boxford’s annual spring Town Meeting, Masconomet Regional High School, Endicott Road, Topsfield.  Benefits two local food pantries.  Bring non-perishable items including can goods, household goods, paper goods and cleaning products with you to town meeting.  If you can’t attend town meeting but want to contribute non-perishables or canned goods to the drive, drop off your contributions at the East Boxford Fire Station on Middleton Road on Monday or Tuesday, May 11 or 12, during business hours.

APRIL 2015

Thursday, April 30. 7:30 pm — Boxford Democratic Town Committee meeting at the Boxford Community Center.  Agenda items include the Food Drive at Town Meeting, and the Barn Dance, probably in October.

JUNE 2014

Wednesday, June 25 — The Third Almost-Annual Strawberry Social will be held in conjunction with a business meeting of the Boxford DTC in Meeting Room 2 of  Boxford Town Hall.  The Social will begin at 7 pm, with the business meeting following.  Plans will be made for our re-scheduled 2014 Barn Dance.

MAY 2014

Tuesday and Wednesday, May 13 and 14: — Third Annual BDTC Food Drive before Town Meeting.  Two local food pantries will benefit.  Bring donations of non-perishable food, paper goods, childrens’ items (cereal, juice boxes, snack packs) and soaps (dish liquid, laundry detergent, bar soap) with you to town meeting at Masconomet Regional School.  Members of the Committee will be stationed at entrances to collect your donations.

APRIL 2014

Wednesday, April 2 — 6:30 pm:  Candidates Night in Boxford — 6:30-9 pm, 2nd floor meeting room of the Boxford Community Center, 4 Middleton Road.

* Meet the candidates:  All the declared Democratic candidates have been invited to participate and will be given podium time (“Campaign Spotlight”) during the event.

* Meet the campaign staff:  How a candidate runs says a lot about how s/he will govern.  Meet your favorite candidates’ aides and staff and learn about their strategies for a winning campaign.

* Obtain more information:  each campaign will have its own table for displaying and distributing campaign literature and securing signatures on nomination papers.  Make the rounds, collect flyers and statements by the candidates and validate your choices.  

A brief business meeting of the DTC will also be held at this time.

FEBRUARY 2014

Saturday, February 22 — Boxford DTC’s annual Democratic caucus will be held at the Boxford Community Center’s 2nd Floor Meeting Room, 4 Middleton Road, Boxford. Sign-in and social hour at 1:30 pm; the caucus will be called to order promptly at 2:00 pm.  All registered Democrats welcome.  Delegates will be elected to represent Boxford Democrats and endorse candidates for statewide constitutional office at the party’s convention, June 13-14 at the DCU Center in Worcester.

A brief business meeting of the committee will follow the caucus.  Democrats wishing to join the committee will be voted in at this meeting.

JANUARY 2014

Thursday, October 11 — Boxford Community Center, 4 Middleton Road, 7 pm:  debate between Democratic and Republican candidates for State Representative in the 2nd Essex district.  Barry Fogel, Democrat, a West Newbury attorney, and Lenny Mirra, Republican, a West Newbury businessman, will take questions from citizens attending the debate.  Boxford Town Moderator Gerald Johnson will moderate.  This event is free and open to the public.  Light refreshments will be served.

Required signature papers will be available for Democrats who wish to renew their committee membership and be listed on the Democratic primary ballot in February, 2012.

Take exit 23N (Rte. 35 —
High St.) and go right toward Danvers Square. At the lights for the main intersection in the Square, turn left onto Elm St. At the Town Hall (large white building), stay left. You are now on Sylvan St. The Library (large cream-colored building) is a short way beyond Town Hall on the right; OR

Take exit 25B (Rte. 114 west toward Middleton). At the end of the exit ramp, bear right onto Rte. 114. Just before the third set of lights, bear right onto Sylvan St. (sign says “Sylvan St., Danvers“). The Library (large cream colored building) is one mile on the left.

FROM RTE. 1 (going north or south) or RTE. 95 (going north):


Take Rte. 62 east. Traveling on Rte. 62 from the Rte. 1 bridge for about 1.7 miles, you will see the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home on your left and you will bear right, continuing on Maple St.. At the second set of lights, turn right onto
Elm St. At the Town Hall (large cream–colored building), stay left. You are now on Sylvan St. The Library (large cream colored building) is a short way beyond Town Hall on the right.
